Al Jazira knocked out Ajman from the Cup

Al Jazira has moved one step closer in their quest to protect their title in the president cup by progressing to the semi-finals with a hefty win over opponents Ajman sending a warning message to other title contenders after beating the latter 6-2.
The game which took place at the Al Wasl stadium in Za’abeel started in a balanced performance with the Orange team Ajman even getting closer to scoring the opener on 10th minute through Lebanese striker Hassan Maatouq but was denied by defender Khalid Sabeel. Maatouq then remained lively for the remaining minutes exerting pressure on Al Jazira defense and he came close to open the score again when he fired a missile-like shot that was saved by the goalkeeper with bravery.
Ajman were shortly punished for missing two golden chances to take the lead and Al Jazira scored through Ali Mabkhoot 27 minutes into the game, Mabkhoot found the back of the net again three minutes later after a perfectly set-up pass from teammate Oliveira, Mabkhoot then returned the favour to Oliveira when he released a deadly cross inside the area for the latter to put it in the back of the net with ease. This has marked the beginning of Ajman’s quick downfall, the orange team entered the dressing room with 3 goals to make up and they was a glimmer of hope for the orange fans when Maatooq made it 3-1 on 54th minute however they did not seem to make serious attempts to come back into the game apart from that giving confident Al Jazira a chance to widen the gap and turn the Al Wasl stadium into a training ground by adding 3 goals in less than 5 minutes through Dalgado (72nd), and Oliveira on 76th minute, Ajman then emerged with a late and shy second goal with just 10 minutes left in the game making any chance to level the score an act of fantasy. The prominent Al Jazira Latin striker Oliveira then added to his club’s evident showpiece of power and dominance by bagging a 6th goal on 92nd minute to end the game 6-2.
